PFLUGERVILLE – Shiner senior quarterback Brandon Cerny and his father, head coach Steven Cerny, had an emotional moment after the Comanches dropped a 34-28 decision in overtime in a Class 2A, Division I area game at Pflugerville Kuempel Stadium on Friday night.
“He’s my father and means everything to me,” Brandon Cerny. “He taught me the game of football, but it’s just tough to go out like this.”
“You hate to lose it this way,” said Steven Cerny. “Especially with me having a senior son, it’s tough.”
After the Comanches (8-4) missed a 24-yard field goal in overtime, the Punchers (10-2) scored on the next play when running back Haddon Hudson took a sweep to the left and scored on a 25-yard touchdown
